Gender Equality

You must have experienced some form of deprivation simply because you're a woman, haven't you?

It is oddly disappointing that gender prejudice has become a daily experience for many women.

Unfortunately, these stereotypes exist even in the corporate world, which should operate on merit alone.

This abysmal reality makes the struggle for gender equality as urgent today as it has always been.  Part of the premise of a business career is competition. Competition is tough and even more challenging for women entrepreneurs, who often have to operate from behind their male counterparts.

Unlike men, women lack access to business growth opportunities.

The best tracks on the playground remain the exclusive preserve of the male folk. And it does not seem like there are many efforts invested into levelling the playing field for both genders.

Over the years, women have depended on men to bridge the performance gap.

They look up to their male counterparts to give them room to compete favourably in business. At Unmute, we have seen that there is a problem with the dependence on men. Gender equality does not depend entirely on men. Women have to contribute their presence and interests to help define their capabilities, not just from the male perspective alone.

Unmute is a contribution by passionate women to ensure that women enjoy liberating freedom, equal rights and opportunities as men.
